Análisis de los movimientos campesinos

Published 1975-10-01

In this paper we will attempt a quick analysis of the role of peasants in political or social movements. We will make a brief review of the different theses and hypotheses put forward by various authors, in an attempt to explain the conditions in which peasant movements arise, the character of these phenomena, their objectives, their direction and destiny, etc. Having systematized those which seem to us to be the most solid and coherent, we will move on to the study of two Latin American peasant movements (the Mexican and the Bolivian), with the aim of observing to what extent they adapt to the concrete facts and are confirmed or discarded, at least in these two historical cases.
